FAQs
I’ve never tried yoga before! Where do I start?
You’re in the right place! You can check out my YouTube channel for free classes to get started. You’ll find chair yoga, a 7 day challenge, and more, created with beginners in mind!
Can yoga help if I’m working with/recovering from an injury or other condition?
Absolutely! Private classes may be the best option for you, in order to get a customized practice and plan that meets your needs. If I don’t feel like I’m the best person to meet your needs, I will help refer you to someone that can.
Can I do yoga if I’m not flexible?
YES! There’s a common misconception that you have to be flexible to do yoga. Absolutely not. Yoga doesn’t discriminate based on what your body looks like or the shapes it can make. Yoga asana (the physical practice of yoga) may help you build flexibility, but it’s not a prerequisite. Also, real yoga happens in the mind, not in a handstand or the splits.
Will yoga help me lose weight, build muscle, etc.?
Yoga asana can come with physical benefits, like increased flexibility, strength, and balance. However, yoga is a more holistic practice that encompasses the body and mind and I will never be encouraging anyone to lose weight. This is a body positive space, where we learn to celebrate our bodies and their accomplishments without changing them.
